Jamat doesn't believe in violence against minorities? I don't know what coolaid you guys are on.
Also the whole islamism is a product of poor education thing is wrong. We know the core support base of islamism around the world comes from middle class educated Muslim households. Osama Bin Laden had a degree in civil engineering and was from a very rich family.
Islamism is not conservatism. It's a radical globalist ideology. The islamist in bangladesh don't want to conserve our religious culture, they're just Arab cosplayers.
I don't think anyone was claiming Islamism is a product of poor education. The anti-Hindu targeted violence that occurred in the first 24 hours after Hasina fled was in many cases done by AL cadres. Elsewhere, it was a mob attacking local AL honchos, including Hindu individuals. Much of the latter category in all likelihood was just semi-urban poor. The whole thing had little to do with Islamism.
And yes, Jamaat leadership is indeed very careful to project itself as a non-violent party.
Mainstream discourse around the world and at home blames islamism on poor education. Even though it has been debunked for a long time. It's one of those zombie ideas.

Can't believe there is so much apologia for a party of traitors.
