I hosted a webinar on “Challenges of sustainable growth, development, and democracy in Bangladesh” in June. Panellists were: Fahmida Khatun (CPD), Syed Akhtar Mahmood (formerly of the World Bank), and Naomi Hossain (SOAS). Obviously no one was expecting it, but the panellists highlighted many near term and structural problems in the economy that presaged the Monsoon Revolution.
And many of the issues remain relevant.
I will speak briefly on Friday evening Bangladesh time on “Navigating economic challenges post-revolution” at a hybrid seminar organised by the Yale School of Management.
The event will be streamed live by the Dhaka Tribune on their facebook and youtube channels.
